The Taco, a traditional Mexican dish made of corn or wheat tortilla, folded or rolled around a filling. Fillings used are as varied and flexible as one’s creativity but usually it’s composed of meat (chicken, pork, beef, seafood) and vegetables.

The concept may be simple, but therein lies its genius.

Tacos are a part of Mexican history and are considered as one of the foods that embody its culture. Dating back from the 18th century, the term ‘tacos’ come from the stick of dynamites used in the silver mines, of which the food resembles.

The Mexican equivalent of sandwiches, tacos were meant to be used as portable meals in a tasty and easy to eat package. Simple yet effective.

Today, the quintessentially Mexican food has become an American food staple along with the Italian pizza and German burger and hotdog, albeit Americanized.

Burrito Express, Pasadena’s favorite purveyor of Mexican fast food, offers both soft and crispy tacos with beef or chicken fillings, and pork or asada fillings in soft tacos only.

Opened in 1978, Burrito Express uses time-honored recipes to make its great tasting food that make people come from all over for a bite. Known for having some of the best burritos, tostadas, tacos, tortas, and enchiladas, Burritto Express has become an integral part of Pasadena culture.

Continuing its tradition of great Mexican food and serving the community, Burrito Express will be present at Maranatha High School’s football game for Taco Night on Friday, November 1. Made possible in part by the school’s Booster Club, the game will give students a chance to have a great meal while cheering on the Minutemen.

Whether you enjoy your tacos quietly, in football games, at home, or wherever your heart desires, Burrito Express will make sure you get your fill.
