Sophisticates of Pasadena, The Bar Serves Up a Winner
Sophisticated without being stuffy, The Bar at Langham, Huntington has been a favorite Pasadena haunt (for those in the know, anyways) for years.
I often wonder at bar menus, with drinks so elaborate and fancy, I wonder if they could even make me a standby, a great Old Fashioned. I do not think that would be the case at The Bar. If you visit The Bar, you must wander out to the patio to see the view. In one word, it is spectacular. Overlooking the grounds of the Langham, Huntington, The Bar has a panoramic view looking out towards the coast. In the evenings, the sun crawls it's way across the sky, treating patrons of The Bar to one of Southern California's biggest draws, our gorgeous sunsets. The Bar offers an extensive wine list, a full top shelf bar, and a selection of fine cigars. Most patrons are guests of the hotel, but there are a number of Pasadena residents who love The Bar, and visit it often. This magazine previously reported that Langham International is putting $25 million into upgrading the grounds and buildings. According to Jennifer Chiesa, director of public relations, any changes to The Bar will be subtle, that the essence of The Bar will be maintained. When in the mood for some quiet conversation or some lively jazz, The Bar has it all. Think your favorite Grandpa's study: inspires awe and a good feeling in your tummy all at once. The Bar is located in the Langham, Huntington Hotel, 1401 S. Oak Knoll, Pasadena. The Bar serves cocktails daily. Monday through Thursday, 2 p.m. to midnight; Fridays, 2 p.m. to 2 a.m.; Saturdays, noon to 2 a.m.; Sundays, noon to midnight. Live music is featured on Friday and Saturday nights.
