Jumping Jellyfish has been open for three months, and is the only children's boutique in Pasadena. Owner Ann Monzon always wanted to open a retail store, and was considering starting a women's clothing store until her son, Nolan, was born.

"When you're pregnant, your priorities change," said Monzon. She realized that there was a market in Pasadena for a fantastic independent children's boutique, so she set out to create a destination spot for hip moms and dads.

Walking into Jumping Jellyfish, it's difficult to decide where to look first. The colorful selection of clothes and toys demands a thorough exploration. Monzon carries quality lines that are unique and interesting, like Splendid, a line of baby clothes that are ridiculously soft.

Monzon tries to find new designers to bring to Pasadena. More often than not, the lines are limited releases, meaning the designers she stocks make a set amount of each item. This does not mean the adorable outfits are expensive, though. She strives to keep her stock affordable.

Monzon hopes to grow her store into a second Pasadena location, ideally on Lake Avenue. If she can find the right space with enough room, she plans to carry furniture, the only baby necessity that she is not already stocking. Jumping Jellyfish is an adorable store, and a must see if you are expecting (or know someone who is)!
