Postcards from the Pyramids

Take in the sun and sights in Egypt, the hot spot for travel this year, according to Angel Castellanos, manager at Distant Lands Travel Bookstore and Outfitters. This beautiful North African country borders the Mediterranean, and offers a diverse experience that will fulfill any traveler's interests.

Sharpe's Rare Books is a Rare Find
Michael Sharpe and his team of expert antiquarian librarians buy and sell first editions out a beautifully-restored, two-story South Marengo Ave. home-turned-office. On his shelves are first editions of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol," Thoreau's "Walden" and Charlotte Bronte's "Jane Eyre," just to name a few.

Art From Earth
Nothing in the artworld is quite as sensual as wet clay rushing through your fingers. Soft, pliable, liquidy at times, when fired clay becomes hard and timeless, resistant and impervious. Xiem Clay Center is a modern center with clean, well-eqipped studio which teaches classes, studios artists, and opens its gallery doors to artlovers to experience its fired- and non-fired objets.

For the Love of Man’s Best Friend

"People saw our collar said, 'Oh, can you make me one?'" says Rick Fredland of Pasadena's Tazlab. "Finally we had so many people saying, "Gosh, I get it, I want one for my dog!" that we just knew we should start manufacturing them."

However, even these powerful security tools will not be able to protect your most valuable data in 100% of the cases.
