Playhouse District Hosts Reception for ArtWalk Artists

The Pasadena Playhouse District Association hosted a gathering on Thurs., Sept 25 at El Portal Restaurant for about 15 artists who will participate in the upcoming ArtWalk. Paintings which had won prizes in the juried art showing were recognized at the get-together.
Erlinda Romo, Executive Director of the Association told PasadenaNow, "We're here to celebrate ArtWalk. Tonight, we're here to celebrate the artists who are showing at the ArtWalk event

on October 11th. The artists were juried. And they were juried by the members of the Pasadena Society of Artists. So, it's a good select number of artists who have been chosen."
"The event will run from 11 am to 5 o'clock in the evening. It will showcase the artists. People can view art; they can purchase art. They can listen to live entertainment and we'll also have an hands-on activities center ... so, we're bringing the art experience beyond what people normally think of as...just viewing art...but also have people participate in art," Romo said.

ArtWalk is slated to take place on El Molino Ave. between Colorado Blvd. and Green St. The event is a multi-faceted celebration and will feature the juried art show and sale, entertainment on two stages, hands-on activities for people of all ages, and free museum day.
ArtWalk is held in conjunction with ArtWeekend, scheduled to be held from October 10 to October 12. Pasadena's ArtWeekend is held every year and it includes ArtNight,
