Pasadena Solar Initiative Rebate Program
Jan 3, 2008 | 7:51 am As part of the City of Pasadena’s Green City Action Plan and the State’s Million Solar Roofs Initiative, the Pasadena Solar Initiative is PWP’s commitment to helping its customers install a total of 14 megawatts of solar power by 2017. With that goal in mind, PWP now offers solar rebates to all customer classes and has eliminated the $8000 rebate cap. Whether you are a residential, business, institutional or non-profit customer, PWP has a rebate for you when you install solar panels. Under the new Pasadena Solar Initiative (PSI) Rebate Program: Rebate amounts from the new PSI Rebate Program are expected to decrease in 2009; this year is the best time to install solar and take advantage of PWP’s best solar rebates ever. Also, through December 31, 2008, the federal government and the state are offering incentives for solar installations. By taking advantage of these incentives plus the rebates from PWP in 2008, customers could save 60-75% on the cost of their systems. Customers may learn more about the new Pasadena Solar Initiative Rebate Program at two free workshops hosted by PWP in February. Experts will be on hand to answer questions about the rebate application process, how to choose a vendor, the types of solar panels and meters available and how to calculate energy savings. Workshop for Residential Customers Workshop for Commercial Customers and Solar Panel Installers Space is limited and reservations are required. Call 626-744-3715 or e-mail gacevedo@cityofpasadena.net to reserve a spot. Be sure to leave your name, contact information and the number of people in your party. For full program details, terms and conditions, and system requirements, call the PWP Answerline at 626-744-6970 and ask for the Pasadena Solar Initiative Rebate Application.
