Safely dispose of unused and broken electronic gadgets while supporting St. Philip the Apostle School By STAFF REPORTS Dec 29, 2008 | 1:7 pm
Bring it to the Recycle Fest on January 31 from 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at St. Philip the Apostle School, 1363 Cordova Street, Pasadena. Not only will you be saving the environment but you’ll be helping out the students too. Along with your outdated computers, monitors and TV’s, Recycle Fest will accept cell phones, video game consoles, video games, iPods, digital cameras, cables/ribbons/wires, scanners, video cards, printers, DVDs, laptops, PDAs, printer cartridges, gps devices, power supplies, radios, hard/floppy disk drives, and modem/network/zip drives. In turn, the organization Cartridges for Kids will give the school money for all these recyclable goods. Cartridges for Kids, (CFK) is an environmentally friendly program that pays cash for recyclable items. Participation in the CFK program helps protect the environment by keeping these items out of landfills and helps to preserve our natural resources. CFK has been working with schools and non-profits since approximately 1999. CFK is an electronic recycler of such items as: empty printer and inkjet cartridges, laptops, cell phones, digital cameras, Ipods, video games and consoles and DVD movies. They allow schools and other non-profits to collect the above mentioned items from their parents or members and then send the products to them where they in turn pay them cash for each item. Last year they had over 13,000 accounts participate and since 1999 they have had approximately 35,000 accounts enroll. For more information please visit, www.cartridgesforkids.com or call St. Philip’s at (626) 795-9691 ext. 446. |
