A 7-year-old boy is in critical condition and his father in serious condition after they were struck by a car which jumped a curb following a collision with another vehicle in Old Town Pasadena, a fire department spokesperson said.

The child's mother suffered moderate injuries as a result of a traffic accident yesterday about 6:30 p.m., near the area of Colorado Boulevard and Fair Oaks Avenue where a Toyota Corolla caromed onto the sidewalk after striking a Nissan Altima, said Pasadena Fire Department spokesperson Lisa Derderian.

According to Derderian, the boy was to Huntington Memorial Hospital, adding that the injured family had just flown into Los Angeles yesterday morning.

Two people riding in the Altima suffered minor injuries, she said.
