Pasadena Now and Inside Pasadena have formed a strategic alliance to create the Pasadena region's most widely read and used internet network, the publishers of both websites said Monday.

Inside Pasadena is a local search directory guiding readers to hundreds of local businesses. It has been online for four years and is used on average 110,000 times monthly, said Ray Napierala, its President.

Pasadena Now is a daily online community magazine, also in its fourth year.  It is read by over 63,000 readers per month, said its publisher, James Macpherson.

The two firms will remain independent but partner to provide advertisers with expanded reach and readership.

In addition to its website, Inside Pasadena publishes a local annual directory and map guides to local businesses.

"Together, we are a real powerhouse," Napierala said. "Our combined audience is perhaps the largest, broadest and deepest of any publication - online or in print - in the West San Gabriel Valley ."

Macpherson said the partnership will allow Pasadena Now to focus on "creating great community content -  something we have won four awards for and something this region desperately needs as other media continues to cut back. We believe our readership will only continue to grow."

Inside Pasadena will contribute its marketing skills and products aimed at serving local small businesses in their quest to increase sales. Pasadena Now will focus on providing editorial content, graphics, video and web production services.
