Mark Leon, Pasadena Commissioner, Is Dead

Mark Leon, a Pasadena resident who ran for City Council just last year and served on the Transportation Advisory Commission, Planning Commission and on several task forces, passed away suddenly last Friday, according to a city spokesperson.
A viewing will take place Friday, May 9, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Woods Valentine Mortuary, 1455 N. Fair Oaks Ave.
A memorial service is scheduled Saturday, May 10, at noon at Friendship Baptist Church , 80 W. Dayton St .
Leon is survived by his wife Christine and children David, Daniel and Diana.
In 2007, Leon ran for City Council's District 1 seat, losing to Jacque Robinson. He was a Mechanical Design Engineer who once chaired the Planning Commission and was a graduate of the Citizen Police Academy and Leadership Pasadena.
