"Dr. DeBose and Ms. Chalian bring strong leadership skills and outstanding records as successful educators to our schools," said Superintendent Diaz. "Their knowledge about education, teaching and learning will enhance the teams at their respective campuses."

Dr. DeBose will serve as principal of PUSD's high-achieving Willard International Baccalaureate Elementary School. She was previously Director of Human Resources at PUSD.   Prior to that, she was principal of PUSD's Linda Vista Elementary School, where student achievement rose significantly during her tenure.

Ms. Chalian will serve as principal of Jefferson Elementary School. She has served as principal of Thomas Jefferson Elementary School in the Glendale Unified School District, which won the California Distinguished School Award and Title 1 Academic Achievement Award and was nominated for the National Blue Ribbon Award.  She previously served as Assistant Principal at GUSD's John Muir Elementary School.
