Manicures and Martinis by the Pool a Perfect DAYcation

This summer, the Langham Huntington Hotel and Spa is offering an event that would make any girl’s heart flutter.  For the fifth year in a row, the hotel and spa is holding “Manicures & Martinis” by the pool.  The setting is utterly relaxing: tables are set up in the shade just feet away from the pool with lots of seating for lounging around after your manicure.   The manicure itself is more relaxing than the location!  The manicure includes the usual polish removal, filing, and buffing, but also includes a fruity scrub, a warm towel wrap, and a wonderful hand massage.  They also offered a wide selection of polish colors to choose from.

One might wonder, however, how a martini fits into the mix?  Certainly your pampered hands couldn’t mess around with a martini glass.  The Langham has thought of everything- with your classy martini, they bring an even classier straw to sip your cocktail with while your hands are occupied.  The beverage list was complete and offered many tempting concoctions, including chocolate or pomegranate martinis.

After your manicure is done and your nails are drying, you are welcomed to sit by the pool and nibble on fruits, breads, and cheeses while you finish your beverage.  More cocktails are also offered.

“Manicures & Martinis” is perfect for mother/daughter outings, bridal showers, mini “day-cations,” or even baby showers, as my manicurist pointed out.  The Langham offers this service until August 27th every Tuesday and Wednesday, 4:00 to 8:00pm.  The cost is $50 per guest, which includes the first martini and a manicure (approximately 25 minutes long).
