Buying a new home is a big decision and not one to be taken lightly. Realty can get confusing and there is a lot more paperwork than most people. If you are able to get a professional to help you through the journey you are guaranteed to have an easier experience. Cairy Hernandez of Keller Williams believes there are eight steps to get you on the road to owning a new home.

Step 1 is deciding to buy. Home buying can be a long process so you do want to be sure you are ready when you start.

After deciding to start, Step 2 is finding a trusted real estate agent to help you through the process.

Step 3 is to head to the bank and get your financing squared away. Getting pre-approved will let you know what your price range is and give prospective sellers the confidence they need to accept your bid.

Step 4 is to find your house. Have a checklist of items you need in a house and a checklist of items you want in a house. If you are buying a home with someone take time to go over each person’s list and try to get them lined up.

Step 5 is to make an offer. When you have found your dream home it is time to have your realtor put in an offer to buy for you.

Step 6 is about getting inspections done. Having a home inspector look over every nook and cranny to ensure that you are getting the house you think you are.

Step 7 brings you to the closing table. This is when you finalize the deal to your house and get the keys to your new home.

Step 8 is calling an insurance agent. You definitely want to protect this huge investment you just made.
