Because our health is of the utmost importance, we should strive to make the best choices in terms of our diet, exercise, and making sure our bodies are in their optimum state. While most of us rely on medication to cure or mitigate diseases, everyone is still susceptible to health risks caused by genetics, the environment, and our overall lifestyles.

Dr. Tina Paul, a traditional naturopath and nutritionist, believes that we only have one life to live and we must live it to the fullest.  She believes one way to maintain our health is through naturopathy, which is defined as a form of alternative medicine that utilizes holistic treatments, like herbalism, homeopathy, acupuncture, nutrition, behavior change, lifestyle counseling, exercise therapy, and more.

Dr. Tina is a graduate of the Clayton College of Natural Health and Mercy College of Detroit, Certified Naturopathic Doctor by the American Naturopathic Medical Board, Certified in Plant-Based Nutrition through Cornell University and an Advanced Clinical Training graduate of UNS.

Aside from being a nutritionist, she is also a passionate advocate for natural health solutions who would like to help others in striving to regain and maintain their wellness.

Her journey with naturopathy began when she sought help for a persistent discomfort she felt in her esophagus. After two years of trying traditional medicine and going to the doctor, she did not find relief, so she sought out alternative solutions to her health problem.

She later found through her own research that despite being vegetarian, she was not eating properly for her body to achieve the right pH balance. She took on the task of changing her diet and substituting her medication with herbal supplements and eventually, the feeling subsided.

Simultaneously, Dr. Tina’s family was plagued by various illnesses such as stroke, heart disease, and diabetes.  She was compelled to make a permanent change in her life and strive to prioritize maintaining good health.

Dr. Tina says that she chose naturopathy because it is a type of healthcare that is “proactive instead of reactive” and that its core values resonate with her.

Such core values are that naturopathy promotes the self-healing nature of the human body, identifies and removes the causes of an illness instead of suppressing them, educates and inspires individuals to be responsible for their own health, treats each person according to their needs, and promotes good health to help prevent disease in the individual, the community, and the world.

“Existing is not an option for me and it should not be for you. I want to thrive. I want to feel vibrant and full of energy every day,” says Dr. Tina.
