A Little Sip of Paris in Pasadena

Paris has a certain je ne sais quoi about it. It’s arguably the cafe capital of the western world as well as an unparalled fashion and cultural landmark.

“Everyone who’s been [to Paris] knows it’s exceptional, there’s beauty everywhere,” said Patrice Wyndham-Smith, the owner of Le Muse. Wyndham-Smith has made it her mission to create a pocket of Paris on South Madison Avenue.

“The building dicated the atmosphere, it has a French aura and the courtyard is very pleasant in the day and evening,” she said. The building inspired Wyndham-Smith to expand her menu beyond the traditional cafe fare.

Le Muse is known for its vanilla latte and espresso – both made from Espresso Republic beans – but has really made a name for itself with wine. Wyndham-Smith sources her wine from boutique purveyors in Europe and Northern California.

Each month, Le Muse hosts a wine tasting with dinner and live music. This month’s theme, Joyeux Noel – A Christmas in Paris will feature French wines. The menu will include traditional French foods and, naturellement, Bûche de Noël.

Wyndham-Smith encourages people to visit, taste and enjoy. She emphasizes the idea that Le Muse is a place to relax, connect and savor. “It’s just a different approach to enjoying — people are just starting to realize how great it is,” she said.

Savor a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and find your muse.
