Exercise Your Green Thumb at Free Winter Gardening Classes

Armstrong Garden Centers offers even more exciting free classes this November. Come in and learn more about festive paperwhites, creating fun decor, and how to plant beautiful flowers from bulbs and seeds.

Armstrong’s scheduled workshops for November 2014:

Saturday, Nov. 1 at 9:00 a.m. – Glorious Flowers from Seeds and Bulbs – Growing garden and bouquet flowers from seeds and bulbs couldn’t be easier. We’ll teach you the simple basics and secrets to success for seasons of blooms.
Saturday, Nov. 15 at 9:00 a.m. – Holiday Glamour: Forcing Paperwhites and Amaryllis – Elegant flowers for the mantel and dining table are a holiday tradition. Our experts will show you the tried-and-true, simple steps to floral success.
Saturday, Nov. 22 at 9:00 a.m. – Planter Switch: Turn a Fall Container Garden into Christmas – Turn your fabulous fall planters into chic Christmas ones by switching out a few plants and replacing them with holiday stunners. It’s quick and easy.
Sunday, Nov. 30 at 9:00 a.m. – Wreath Make N’ Take – Bring the welcoming, authentic spirit of stylish Old California to your front door with a glorious Santa Barbara style wreath. Demonstration is free. For those who would like to participate hands-on during the class and take home their own wreath, registration is required online or in store with a $30 fee payable at the time of the class.

Here’s an upcoming look at the class schedule for December 2014:

Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 3:00 p.m. – Wreath Make N’ Take
Sunday, Dec.1 7 at 9:00 a.m. – Poinsettia Planters
Wednesday, Dec. 10 at 3:00 p.m. – Poinsettia Planters
Saturday, Dec. 27 at 9:00 a.m. – Rose Pruning
Sunday, Dec. 28 at 10:00 a.m. – Fruit Tree Pruning

Each class will be instructed by a certified nursery professional who will offer timely gardening advice and hands-on demonstrations. No advance registration or RSVP is required to attend, except for this month’s Make N’ Take class. Classes are open to gardeners of all levels. Armstrong Garden Centers also offers free garden talks from the experts for local garden clubs, homeowners associations and other small groups in the community.
