Back to School: Now’s the Time to Get those Check-ups

It’s summertime, and once again your kids will need to get those all important back-to-school check-ups to make sure they are prepared for the months ahead.

Although your children are young, they still need to have check-ups to ensure that their health is in tip-top condition. This can include anything from general physical examinations to more specific ones relating to the sports that your children get involved with.

A routine back to school check-up at ChapCare involves checking the height and weight of your child to ensure that they are growing the way that they should, giving them any necessary vaccinations and checking for sports-related injuries. Here’s a little more about what you can expect:

These examinations help to build up a thorough medical history for your child, allowing ChapCare’s experts to identify any risk factors and educate you on the potential problems to look out for.

You can help doctors by being able to provide accurate and detailed answers about your child’s eating and sleeping habits as well as how they behave in different social environments.

If you have any particular worries about your children, make sure that you voice these with their doctor. In addition, don’t forget that your child should have regular dental and vision exams each year.

It’s easy to miss out on an annual check-up but visiting ChapCare for a quick appointment is all you need to do to stop your child’s health from suffering. Remember: A healthy child is a happy one.

ChapCare’s Lincoln Health Center, the area’s only Child Health Home, is located at 2055 N. Lincoln Avenue, in Pasadena. Services provided at this site include children’s medical and dental care, and vision services for children and adults. For more information, or to make an appointment call (626) 398-6300 or visit https://www.chapcare.org.
