Barnabas Clothing Co. opened its doors at its first storefront location at Paseo Colorado in Pasadena on Saturday, June 29th.

In celebration of the grand opening, Barnabas Clothing Co. will offer 15% off everything in the store.

The Barnabas Clothing Co. brand online and in stores is “socially conscious driven.”

“I always wanted to have a brand that represented the positive message, the positive lifestyle and also had a great give back component,” Barnabas Founder and CEO Alexander Aquino said.

Barnabas Clothing Co carves their niche in fashion by giving back to those infected with HIV/ AIDS in Kenya. Ten percent of all sales support the Living Room International, a hospice in western Kenya.

“We connect the dots with all of our products so in everything we print exactly what ten percent does on every t-shirt so you can take a look inside and you will see: because of you a child dying of AIDS in Africa will see nourishing and free care for a day and so thank you for making a difference,” Aquino said.

Barnabas wants to get the customer involved and tangibly be impacted by how they are able to make a difference by simply buying a t-shirt.

Barnabas Clothing Co. is a bold brand that encourages people to live A Life Worth Imitating with the choices they make, the people they influence, and even the clothes they wear.

“Live good is our idea of having a positive message of living a life that is worth imitating. When you come and you do something positive it causes a ripple effect in society, in your neighborhood and in your community. That is kind of the whole idea behind the brand,” Aquino said.

Aquino grew up in Redondo Beach South Bay and is a graduate of Azusa Pacific University. As an international model, actor, photographer, and business owner, Alexander has enjoyed success in a number of industry endeavors, all of which have contributed to the vision, excitement, and design for Barnabas Clothing Co.

“Being here in Pasadena and having a place for people to actually come and see the product and try it on it is just a bigger increase of sales for us too,” Aquino said. “It was just a natural fit for us to be here and to be in Paseo. I think with the transitions going on with the stores like with Macy’s moving on it gives us smaller businesses the ability to come in and create an opportunity for us to open shop.”
