Celebrate Cinco de Mayo All Month Long

Cinco de Mayo is synonymous with Mexican culture, music and food. Now you can extend your culinary exploration of Mexico with three new artisanal tacos at Sharky’s Woodfired Mexican Grill. These Mexican-inspired dishes offer a fresh take tacos from April 17 until May 31.


“We want to celebrate the whole month,” said Steven Goldstein, Chief Marketing Officer at Sharky’s. “Our roots are Mexican and we built our new items off of the Mexican ingredients we had here [but] with a more contemporary flavor.”

Unlike Sharky’s other offerings, the three Fiesta de Mayo tacos are already “built,” which means they can’t be customized. But, with flavorful combinations like these, you wouldn’t want it any other way. Choose from Slow-Roasted Pork, Steak and Arugula or The Roque Shrimp Taco – better yet – get all three.


The Slow-Roasted Pork is currently the only pork option on the menu and is made from natural-raised, lean pork that has been cooked to pull-apart perfection. It’s served with Pineapple Citrus Marinade and Housemade Jicama-Cabbage-Carrot Slaw with a hint Chipotle Crema, on a Corn Tortilla.

For an updated take on tacos, the Steak and Arugula is your best bet. This flavorful taco features Grilled Angus Steak, Arugula, Fontina Cheese, Avocado Salsa, Pickled Red Onion, and Cotija Cheese on a Flour Tortilla.

The Roque Shrimp Taco started out with Marinated, Grilled Shrimp, with a Housemade Jicama-Cabbage-Carrot Slaw and Chipotle Crema on a Corn Tortilla. Sharky’s Northridge General Manager, Jose Roque, upped the flavor ante by adding Grilled Fresh Pineapple, and the Roque Shrimp Taco was born.

Sharky’s other options range from indulgent to health-conscious but everything on the menu is made-to-order from fresh ingredients, that are organic, whenever possible. The Fiesta Steak Burrito is one of their most popular options but the recently added Organic Roasted Vegetable Bowl also has a strong following.

“People eat differently on a Monday than on a Friday,” said Goldstein. “At Sharky’s, you can choose what to eat that fits the occasion.”


The Power Plates are the perfect example of customization at Sharky’s. These plates offer hearty combinations of one protein like Wild Caught Salmon or Organic Tofu and one or two sides like Organic Yucatan Yams or Quinoa Veggies. Goldfield adds that the Power Plates are a hit with fitness fanatics because you can build a healthy meal without sacrificing flavor and there are enough choices so you don’t end up with the same meal day after day.
