I think that the quote below by this famous Honey Connoisseur sums it up best…

“That buzzing noise means something. Now, the only reason for making a buzzing noise that I know of is because you are… a bee! And the only reason for being a bee is to make honey. And the only reason for making honey is so I can eat it.” Winnie the Pooh.

On Saturday June 22, the Cooking Camp Chefs Instructors www.summerartacademy.com will be visiting and demonstrating and offering wonderful tastes of Mother Natures most efficient workers “The Honey Bee” at the Whole Foods Market on Arroyo Parkway located at 465 S. Arroyo Pkwy from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to support their Share the Buzz Campaign.

“We are so excited to be a part of Whole Foods Market’s support of ”Share the Buzz” Campaign of the making people aware of the importance the Honey Bee has on Humanity and how vital it is to be aware of where we would be without the Honey Bee,” stated Cooking Camp Executive Chef Chris Allen.

Without bees, breakfast would be very boring and bland, lunch would be extremely limited and dinner would be downright dismal. Bees pollinate more than 100 types of crops in the United States including everything from the almonds in your granola to the berries atop your favorite dessert. Yet this alarming statistic shows that Honey Bee colonies are declining at an annual rate of 30% or more.

The lives of bees and humans are intricately linked since the dawn of time. Nearly one out of every three bites of food we eat is pollinated by bees. Bees are vital contributors to the reproduction of clover and alfalfa, which feed grazing animals, and to the diverse ecosystems that sustain wildlife throughout the World.

Throughout human history, Bees have been revered for their precision, productivity and communal intelligence…not to mention honey, beeswax, bee pollen, propolis and royal jelly. Egyptian pharaohs inscribed images of bees on royal seals and in Greek mythology, Bees were associated with deities and divination.

Now, it is time for you to stop by Whole Foods Market 465 S. Arroyo Pkwy this Saturday June 22 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and taste the wide variety of delicious Honey selections and combinations that the Cooking Camp Chefs will have to offer, so you too can discover why the Honey Bee is so precious and why we need be aware of their precarious situation and what we can do to help now, so that future generations will always be able to taste that sweet succulent unsurpassed flavor of Honey and be able to reap all of the rewards of the Honey Bees tireless work pollinating the foods we eats everyday.
