Descanso Gardens welcomes spring at the annual Cherry Blossom Festival, a celebration of Japanese culture and the beautiful flowering trees in the landscape, on Saturday and Sunday, March 22-23. Enjoy music, origami, garden walks and delectable cuisine. All activities are free with admission unless noted.

Cherry Blossom Walk & Talk
Both days | 11am, noon, 2 & 3pm
Take a guided walk of the many flowering cherry trees in the Descanso Gardens landscape.

Origami with Yami Yamauchi
Both days | 11am – 3pm
Learn the traditional art of paper folding from an origami master.

Minyo Station in Concert
Saturday | 1 – 3 pm
This popular band fuses Japanese traditional music with Western pop, for a sound uniquely its own.

June Kuramoto in Concert
Sunday | 1 – 2:30 pm
June Kuramoto performs on the koto, the national instrument of Japan. A classically trained musician, she is a founding member of the Japanese-American fusion ensemble Hiroshima.

Camellia Lounge
Both days | 11am – 3pm
Purchase selections from Patina’s Japanese-inspired menu, including yakitori and specialty beverages.

About Descanso Gardens: Established as a public garden in 1953, Descanso Gardens is located at 1418 Descanso Drive, La Cañada Flintridge, near the interchange of the 2 and 210 freeways. The Gardens are open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except Christmas Day. Parking is free.
