Who says desserts are forbidden in the morning? At Pillow Talk, the new Japanese styled cafe on South Lake, gourmet desserts and loaded egg sandwiches with a south Pacific twist are on the menu day in and day out.

Pillow Talk is a cafe that takes on a minimalist, bright, and airy gathering space for locals and features a menu that is anything but ordinary.

Anyone with a sweet tooth or a penchant for savory treats will likely find the perfect caffeinated drink to pair with a sandwich and top off with a personal sized dessert cake for the road.

Favorite signature drinks range from the Iced Tiramisu with bulging chocolate bubbles on top, a Pineapple Americano, and the Dirty Matcha Latte for starters who want to try something new.

As for sandwiches, the flavor palettes are one a whole different spectrum.

The chef favorite is the Japanese inspired Okonomiyaki which has a hearty portion of bacon, egg, cabbage, and dashi for a simple, yet exotic morning mouthful experience.

Others include the Egg Heaven, think egg salad and soft-boiled egg, the Guaca-Mango with avocado, mango and cayenne, and the Tamagoyaki signature which features egg, dashi, mustard and mayo.

Pillow talk also offers the more standard coffee choices such as espresso, cold brews, and pour overs with beans provided by Counter Culture coffee roasters.

And if you’re in a hurry, don’t worry. Pillow Talk is the perfect place to take-out anything on the menu and you’re sure to get some looks from people on the street when they see the modern and sleek packaging with sandwiches in their custom white box and desserts in stylish tins–a great souvenir that houses great treats.
