Pasadena Service Federal Credit Union is launching Kasasa, a new free checking account for PSFCU members.

With no opening fee or additional cost, members receive a higher rate of 2.25% APY*. In addition, PSFCU will refund your ATM withdrawal fees nationwide up to $25 a month (including at other bank ATMs).

What’s not to like?

Pasadena Service Federal Credit Union serves its members, first and foremost.

“We get to know our members one-on-one and work with them on any needs that they have, so we’re here to help our members and serve their needs, not our needs,” said PSFCU Branch Manager Maria Campos.

A Kasasa account has no monthly maintenance fees, no minimum deposit to open, and no minimum balance to earn rewards.

Best of all: you get cash back as long as you meet a couple monthly requirements. And if you don’t meet these few requirements one month? The Kasasa account is still free. The next cycle that you qualify, you’ll start earning cash back.

You have 2 cash back options to choose from: either earn 2.25% APY* on your checking or 2% cash back on your debit card purchases.

To open up a free Kasasa checking account, you can visit the Pasadena Service Federal Credit Union headquarters at 670 North Rosemead Boulevard, in Pasadena, call (877) 297-4707, or visit their website at https://www.mypsfcu.org. Focusing in the greater San Gabriel Valley, PSFCU has 4 branches in Covina, Vernon, Pasadena, and John Muir High School Early College Magnet. You can also stay in touch with them on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/mypsfcu and Twitter: @PasadenaServFCU.

* Qualifications: Within each month: Make 12 debit card purchases, sign up for E-Statements, and access online banking at least once. 2.25% APY* on balances up to $10,000. .25% APY on balances over $10,000 and .05% for not meeting qualifications. Monthly total foreign ATM refunds are capped at $25. If you don’t meet these qualifications, the Kasasa account is still free and you’ll still earn the base rate. You can get right back to earning your Kasasa Cash or Kasasa Cash Back rewards the very next cycle that you qualify.
