Find Treasures From Times Gone By at The Pasadena Antiquarian Book Fair

Monday, December 22, 2014 | 11:56 pm

Book lovers, collectors of authentic handwritten manuscripts, antique maps and other vintage paper goods will have something to look forward to at the First 2015 Pasadena Antiquarian Book Fair produced by Bustamante Enterprises, Inc.

The Book Fair manager, Shelia Nickerson, stated, “Expect a lot of  beautiful and wonderful items at this International Fair. There are over 100 dealers participating in this event.  Exhibitors from Europe, out of state and from throughout California will be displaying and offering for sale rare and modern 1st  edition books, prints, photographs,  fine graphics, maps and unique pieces of ephemera.  Some foreign and domestic exhibitors have a tendency to bring wonderful handwritten manuscripts such as the one I once viewed by Charles Dickens.”

“Due to the all in one convenience of a tablet or mobile phone, a number of us have changed the way we introduce reading to our children.”  stated Shelia. “Nothing equals the feeling one gets when visually seeing and holding a good book or historical paper objects.  I am sorry, but neither a mobile phone nor a tablet can do the same.  Books and other reading materials can excite and trigger the imagination and memories of the times gone by.”

This January 31, 2015 through February 1, 2015 Antiquarian Book Fair will also feature award winning author Steven Snyder, the author of “Shot Down”.  It is a story of his father, a World War II pilot and his crew who were shot down over Belgium and survived.  Snyder will be at the Fair only on Saturday, January 31, 2015, to sell and sign his books.

Bustamante Enterprises, Inc. has been producing Book Fairs at the Pasadena Center since 1998.  These Antiquarian Book Fairs under the management of Shelia Nickerson are considered one of Pasadena’s finest events, providing clients and exhibitors with a one of a kind shopping experience in a comfortable and very pleasant environment.

The Book Fair will take place in Exhibit Hall “B” at the beautiful Pasadena Convention Center, 300 East Green Street, Pasadena, California. General admission is at $8.00; $6.00 with a discount coupon, $5.00 for seniors 62 or older, and children under 12 years of age are admitted free.  Complimentary return privileges.
