Holiday Events for Socially Conscious Shoppers

Ten Thousand Villages is Pasadena’s destination for socially conscious shopping, where individuals can feel good about giving inspired Fair Trade gifts that give back in more ways than one. At Ten Thousand Villages, shoppers can get great gifts this holiday season that will make a lasting impression with friends and family, and make a sustainable difference in the lives of families worldwide. The local shop is kicking off the season of giving this weekend with a champagne toast, holiday charity program and the store’s biggest sale of the year.

TTVP is opening the season of giving in style with a champagne toast and the grand reveal of the store’s holiday line Friday Nov. 8 from 6:00 p.m.¬†-9:00 p.m. ¬†Shoppers will enjoy festive ambiance, refreshments and entertainment, and a donation of 15% of all the evening’s proceeds will be given to the United Nations Association Pasadena Chapter.

The store’s biggest sale of the year is held on Saturday, Nov. 9 from 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. where shoppers will enjoy 20% off everything they can fit into a Ten Thousand Villages oversized shopping bag.

Ten Thousand Villages Pasadena will donate 15% of all purchases made between Nov. 22 – Dec. 1 to local non-profit organizations, including Arroyo Food Co-op, Bloom Again Foundation, Pasadena Mennonite Church, Elizabeth House, Headington Institute, Day One, Peace & Justice Academy, Firehouse School, Zonta Club of Pasadena, Knox Presbyterian Church, Family Promise SGV, YWCA Pasadena and UNA Pasadena.

Every item at Ten Thousand Villages Pasadena is made with love by Fair Trade artisans from around the world, which means that shoppers can know where it came from and where it’s going. Shoppers can interact with a map that shows the global impact the gifts from Ten Thousand Villages can have at The store’s “Benefit Shopping” initiative in November makes a difference at home, with a portion of proceeds being donated to local non-profit organizations.
