How to Save Your Smile Over the Holidays

Although Halloween just passed us, that doesn’t mean the candy noshing is over. Between leftover candy and holiday sweets, the sugar rush is bound to take a toll on you. Before the sugar rush kicks in take a moment to read up on some teeth saving tips.

During Halloween, most kids pass off the hard candy to their parents. So mom and dad listen up, hard candy is bad news for your teeth. The longer candy stays in your mouth the more chance it has to contribute to tooth decay.

By the same token, chewy candy, like caramels, can cling to teeth so make sure they brush after eating it. This holds true for other sticky and gummy candies as well.

Eating candy at the same time as a meal is a good idea because the extra saliva you create when eating can wash away the bacteria you do not want. Consider this your go-ahead for an after-dinner treat.

Lana Manibog, of Carte Blanche Mobile Teeth Whitening, also suggests rinsing vigorously after indulging in food like chocolate and red wine (or both if you’re lucky). Carte Blanche Mobile Teeth Whitening is a local resource to take care of your after holiday teeth.

Enjoy your treats but make sure to keep your grin pristine!
