Opiate abuse in particular has gripped the newest generation of twentysomethings in the form of pain medication and other pills that can be easily obtained through a willing doctor or pharmacist. Heroin and other street drugs are in the mix as is alcohol and even more exotic designer drugs. More so than ever—there are dangerous choices out there for our children and loved ones.

Local emergency rooms are overcrowded with individuals who have injured themselves or others because of behaviors that are the direct result of excessive drinking and drug use. Jails are full of men and women who got locked up because of petty thefts, DUI charges, simple assaults, and drug possession. All these hospital visits and criminal charges can be traced directly back to unhealthy drug and alcohol use. This is costly to not only the individual, their families but also to the communities that provide medical services and law enforcement.

Many of our sons and daughters, fathers and mothers, sisters and brothers struggle day and night with the powerful force of addiction and it almost always creates terrible problems for families, employment, and communities. More than ever there is a real need in our communities for accessible and effective drug and alcohol treatment.

Since 1969, there has been one community based non-profit organization that has been quietly doing some great work and changing lives of so many who have come to the programs asking for help. Impact Drug and Alcohol Treatment programs are licensed by the State of California, nationally accredited by the Joint Commission and offer evidence based therapies and counseling. So many who seek out help from Impact for substance abuse issues find that they get so much more after they are clean and sober. Finding stable housing, a good job and reconnecting with the family are just some of the benefits of a quality recovery with Impact guiding you every step of the way.
