New parents likely find themselves asking questions which may not have specific answers as they try to navigate the waters of raising a child from prenatal to toddler age.

Wouldn’t it be great if there was one place where parents, both experienced and new, can gather to learn more about this new chapter of life and have a safety net of advice, support, and friendship in the community?

Well, that place exists and it was created by parents, for parents.

The Family Room was created from the belief that during one of the biggest transitions of your life, everyone benefits from extra support.

The Family Room exists to fill a critical gap for new parent because the minds behind it understand that children thrive when their parents do.

The modern space for today’s new and expecting parents offers education and community all under one roof in a continuum of care from pregnancy through preschool — from prenatal classes like childbirth prep to breastfeeding support, parent & me and beyond.

Having credible information and support during this life changing transition is important in the early days, weeks, months and even years of a child’s life.

After the birth of her twins, The Family Room Founder and CEO, Karen Stoteraux, was shocked by the lack of comprehensive support in her local community for women and families entering parenthood.

She decided the best way to help families was to create a space just for parents and bring the most experienced birth, postpartum, and infant and child development professionals in the community together.

Now in business for five years, it is a non-clinical, judgment-free and modern space for all parents to be real, find community, and learn together.

Stoteraux’s experience as both a mother and the founder of The Family Room has brought her to the realization that there is a sense of isolation many parents feel after having a child and people need human connection, especially during times of transition, which is why peer-to-peer support is so critical.

The concept of the The Family Room has caught wind all over the country and it receives inquiries from all over asking about expansion into new markets.

Classes currently available include prenatal, Mommy & Me/Parent & Me, Toddler & Me, Yoga, Music, and Messy/Play Art.
