In anticipation of everyone’s busiest time of year, Macy’s is launching same day delivery for online shoppers throughout most of Pasadena (zip codes 91101, 91103, 91104, 91105, 91106, and 91123). The affordable convenience is ideal for everyone from working professionals and holiday hosts to gift givers, busy moms and up-to-the-minute fashionistas.
Want another dress option for your date? Need more place settings for last minute dinner guests? Don’t want to disrupt your sleeping toddler? Or do you just hate parking and battling holiday crowds?
Now any item, from clothing to electronics to cookware, that is ordered online by 1 p.m. and is available at your local Macy’s, can be hand delivered to your door starting at $5.
“Our goal remains to help our customers shop whenever, wherever and however they prefer, and to use the entire inventory of the company to satisfy demand,” said Terry J. Lundgren, Macy’s, Inc. chairman and chief executive officer. “We are a multi-faceted retailer with stores, technology, Internet capability and mobile access that come together for our customers. They are at the center of all our decisions, and our ongoing research and development will continue to help us understand how to personally engage with them.”
Customers simply shop on Macys.com and select the “same-day delivery” option at checkout to schedule their desired two-hour delivery window for the same or next day. To ensure same-day delivery, orders must be placed by 1 p.m. local time, Monday through Saturday, or by 11 a.m. on Sunday.
Same-day delivery is a flat $5 for all online purchases that meet Macy’s minimum order ($99), regardless of number of bags. Otherwise standard shipping is $14.99, plus $5 for same-day delivery.
Customers can see a picture of their driver and estimated time of arrival, as well as visually track their deliveries from the moment of pick up.
Deliveries to customers are powered by Deliv, a rapidly growing crowdsourced same day delivery provider, in collaboration with major mall owners, including General Growth Properties, Macerich, PREIT, Simon Property Group, Taubman, and Westfield Corporation.
Macy’s same-day delivery is built on an operational foundation that has enabled Macy’s customers to buy online and pickup in store, which was piloted in fall 2013 and recently completed its rollout to all full-line Macy’s store locations nationwide.
