Rosie Bowl II: Puppies Over Football Anytime

Wednesday, January 28, 2015 | 12:04 am

The heat is on and football fans are gearing themselves for a spectacular and heart-pumping Super Bowl XLIX!

But for those who are not big fans of brawny men scrambling and fighting tooth and nail for a ball then you might want to consider rooting for the contenders of Rosie Bowl II instead! Head to Pasadena Humane Society on February 1, 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for a one-of-a-kind canine showdown!

Pawtriots and Sea Dogs, shelter dogs at the Pasadena Humane Society, have been training intensively to give you a doggie entertainment. They will assemble at the Zeilstra Field—the “gridiron”—for an afternoon of fun games and playful interactions with all the guests…and hopefully their future owners. A blue ribbon and a reduced adoption fee await the wittiest and most agile dogs who can respond to sit, down, and stay.

These adoption-ready dogs have been to Shelter School, where dogs are let out of the kennels and onto the field to mingle with other dogs. They play, explore their surroundings, and even get to learn some classic tricks.

Pasadena Humane Society will also live stream Puppy Bowl XI in the Education & Training Center. Activities and giveaways abound for children. Light refreshments will be served, and underground parking is available. And best of all, admission is free!

Rosie Bowl II is the perfect occasion to fall in love and adopt the dog of your dreams.

Pasadena Humane Society is located at 361 S. Raymond Ave., Pasadena. For more information, call (626) 792-7151 or visit www.pasadenahumane.org.
