The Difference Between A Townhouse and A Condo

Townhouses and condos. They look about the same, so what is really the difference between the two and why should that matter to someone who is looking for a new place to live in Pasadena?

If you’re stumped because they practically look the same, you’re not alone.
There are a number of differences however. One is the layout. Condos are often designed to look like an apartment with everything on one floor. But townhouses, like the ones at the Andalucía Townhomes and Flats, have multiple floors, giving the appearance of a more regular home.

People who live in townhomes typically have better access to amenities that make life more convenient like rooftop retreats, or maybe an onsite restaurant with open-air dining like at the Andalucía Townhomes and Flats. They also offer contemporary interiors, San Gabriel mountain views, a tranquil central courtyard, fitness studio and walking paseos. Very nice indeed.

With condominiums, you will usually need to share everything with all of the other people living in your unit much like the typical apartment with the only difference being that you own the place instead of rent it. Condos are also notorious for having a lot of rules about what you can or can’t have in/on your property, whereas townhomes give owners more free rein when it comes to decorating the property to your liking.

Buying a condo means that the property is co-owned by you and the other people who live on the property. You will often pay more expensive maintenance fees because everyone has to pitch in to cover the cost of the entire place.

When taking everything into account, it seems like leasing a townhome from the Andalucía Townhomes and Flats are definitely the better option for people who need a short term space for living, and for those who need/want long term arrangements it is still the better option because the location, amenities, and charm make these luxury townhomes a pleasure to be a part of.

The Andalucia is located at 686 E Union St, in Pasadena. For more information call (626) 683-1200 or visit https://liveandalucia.com.
