Where can you find a collection of vintage sock monkeys, bargain-priced books and a set of dishes used in a wedding ceremony? These are just a few items on the ever changing rotation at Treasure Fair Thrift Shop. Manager, Mary Marino, jokes that the store is “The Emporium of Unpredictable Merchandise” with inventory changing every hour.

Treasure Fair is Thrift Shop is stocked by donations, staffed by volunteers and benefits the Assistance League of Pasadena. The shop is the Assistance League’s biggest fundraiser and has been open since 1977.

The money spent here supports the Assistance League of Pasadena, which is one of the oldest chapters in the country. Their programs include Operation School Bell which provides clothing and school supplies to underserved children in the Pasadena Unified School District. Last year they helped over 1,500 children. Twice a year they also recognize middle school students who have demonstrated significant improvement in attendance, academics or behavior over the course of a semester through their Very Important Performers program.
