Treat Yourself to a Mani Pedi This Holiday Season

The holidays are a time for giving but don’t forget the number one person on your wishlist – you! Indulge in a mani pedi while you check presents off your shopping list or stop by for a relaxing treat before jetting to your next holiday party.

We spoke with Sarah Gibson Tuttle, the founder of Olive & June, about how to make your fingers and toes twinkle this holiday season. Olive & June’s Pasadena location features over over 500 colors to choose from as well as gels, nail shaping and custom nail art.

“Neutrals have been going strong although I’m starting to see clients having more fun with holiday-ish hues like emeralds and dark ruby tones,” said Gibson Tuttle. “I’m currently in love with Essie’s Licorice, but one of my all time favorites is CND’s Field Fox.”

At Olive & June, it’s about more than just colors – it’s about the experience. Gibson Tuttle founded the company to provide a middle ground between dive-y salons and expensive spas. Expect a luxurious yet relaxed experience with dedicated nail technicians, a comfortable environment and a selection of hand-picked teas.

Gibson Tuttle urges customers to choose whichever colors will bring a smile to their faces – not to focus on trends or of-the-moment looks. “Don’t worry about skin tone matching or what’s trending,” she said.

Gibson Tuttle also suggests applying a coat of top coat every other day and avoiding prolonged exposure to water to help keep your fingers and toes looking their best – now is the perfect time to have someone else do the dishes. Be sure to take care of your nails and cuticles healthy by using cuticle oil and moisturizing.

Treat yourself this holiday season or get a gift certificate for the hard working lady in your life.

Olive & June is located at 146 South Lake Avenue. Call (626) 440-9700 or visit www.olivejune.com to book your appointment.
