Waste Away in Margaritaville on Thursday

Hey, it’s not your fault. It’s National Margarita Day on Thursday. Time to suck down that delicious tequila, lime juice and Cointreau or Triple Sec combination in reasonably copious amounts (never exceeding .07%, of course…)

And why not? On the rocks (shaken with ice), frozen (blended with ice), or straight up (without ice), margaritas can be that ideal combination of sweet, salty, sour and bitter.

One-third of all Americans say margaritas are actually their favorite happy hour drink (despite 15% saying margaritas are “deceptively strong.”), according to the NationalToday.com Margarita Day Survey.

At downtown Pasadena’s popular Mexican restaurant El Portal, the barkeep pours agave wine margaritas.

For the holiday Thursday, Armando Ramirez offers up $5 single and $10 double margaritas and his promise: “We got the best margaritas in town.”

Stop searching for your lost shaker of salt and head to El Portal. In Arcade Lane at 695 East Green Street, Pasadena. For more call (626) 795-8553 or visit https://www.elportalrestaurant.com/.
