“We Scream for Fresh, Healthier Ice Cream!” Ice-Cream Lab to Open Second Store in Pasadena

Ice-Cream Lab, which serves freshly made-to-order liquid nitrogen ice cream containing only the healthiest, all natural and locally sourced ingredients, is opening its second location in Pasadena on October 24th 2014. Pasadena locals will now have the chance to get their ice cream made to order with their choice of fresh, never frozen fruits, pure dairy milk and cream and a blast of liquid nitrogen.

Guests can choose from four traditional flavors and six seasonal specialties that will be made with a custard or yogurt base. Once a flavor is chosen, the techs will use an ice cream machine that uses liquid nitrogen to freeze this delicious healthy treat on the spot.

The store is the concept of childhood best friends Joseph Lifschutz and Tommy Ngan. Some of their favorite flavors include Angeles Apple Pie, made with cinnamon apples and graham crackers; Blue Velvet Cupcake, made with large chunks of blue velvet cupcake and cream cheese icing; and Salt Lick Crunch, with pretzel pieces, caramel and sea salt. Milkshakes are also on the menu. Prices are $5 for a medium and $7 for a large.

How it Works

Enjoy a -320 chilling experience as “Lab Techs” craft ice cream from organic, local ingredients right in front of everyone’s eyes with super cold blasts of liquid nitrogen billowing over with icy clouds, to instantly freeze the dessert into a smooth and creamy treat. Unlike traditional ice cream shops that pre-freeze their ice cream, Ice Cream Lab, allows guests to enjoy their selection within seconds through the help of liquid nitrogen. Science just became delicious!

The event will be held at 16 S. Fair Oaks Ave., Pasadena. Ice Cream Lab in Pasadena will be open Sunday to Wednesday from 12 noon – 11:00 p.m. and 12 noon to 12 midnight, Thursdays to Saturday.
