[Updated: 6:54 a.m.] The Pasadena Fire Dept. reports it has officially suppressed a second-alarm structure fire which erupted in the 500 block of North Fair Oaks Ave. about 4:30 a.m. Sunday.
The fire was in a “strip mall that includes bike shop, furniture store, beauty salon and computer repair. Heavy flames smoke upon arrival,” Pasadena Fire Dept. spokesperson Lisa Derderian texted from the scene.
Saying the scene was still active due to downed live wires, Derderian was unable to report further details.
Fire units remain at the location and North Fair Oaks Ave. is expected to remain shut for several hours.
