A motorcyclist and his female passenger were killed when the bike drove through a red light and struck a car at an intersection Pasadena, a police lieutenant said today.
The driver in the car was not injured during the crash at North Lake Avenue and East Union Street, said Lt. John Mercado of the Pasadena Police Department. The crash occurred at 7:59 p.m. Friday.
The motorist was going northbound on Lake Avenue and was about to make a westbound turn onto Union Street. He waited for traffic signal to turn run, began his westbound turn when he was suddenly struck by the motorcyclist, Mercado said.
The motorcyclist, a 24-year-old man from Monrovia and his passenger, a 26-year-old woman from Los Angeles, were rushed by Pasadena Fire Department paramedics to Huntington Memorial Hospital, where they died from their injuries, he said.
