2017 Rose Bowl Game Seats Sell Out in an hour

Tickets for the Rose Bowl Game sold out in less than an hour Tuesday as football fans scrambled for a chance to watch what is expected to be an exciting matchup between the USC Trojans and the Penn State Nittany Lions on January 2, 2017.

Karen Linhart, the Rose Bowl Game’s media director, predicted the tickets would run out fast, before the tickets went on sale Tuesday at 8 a.m., according to City News Service.

USC and Penn State will be facing each other for the first time at the Rose Bowl since 2009. That year, the Trojans defeated the Nittany Lions, 38-24.

Because of the Tournament of Roses’ “never on a Sunday” policy, the game will be played on January 2. The policy is said to have started with the Rose Parade in 1893 and since then has been applied for the Rose Bowl Game as well.

The game will be USC’s 34th appearance in the Rose Bowl, the most for any school. Penn State will be playing at the Rose Bowl only for the third time.
