An annual event, The Woman’s Civic League’s May 7th luncheon was devoted to honoring young women from PUSD Middle Schools who have shown tremendous growth and tenacity during their middle school years. This event is always well attended with the girls teachers and councelors, and parents and siblings joining us for lunch and presenting the girls to us. These young women while often facing family or academic struggles have all shown extremely significant improvement in their grades, While lots of awards are presented at this time of year to outstanding scholars and athletes, this award goes deep into the character of the student. Learning of their efforts is always inspiring.
