The 44 finalists were revealed Wednesday in a media session held on the steps of the Tournament House. The young women were selected from a field of almost 1,000 who auditioned this year, an official said.

Seven of the finalists will be named to the 2019 Royal Court on October 1 at the Tournament House.

The Rose Queen will be announced and crowned in a Coronation Ceremony at the Pasadena Playhouse on October 23.

The Tournament of Roses Queen and Court Committee made its selections based on a number of criteria including poise, speaking ability, academic achievement, youth leadership, and community and school involvement.
