Pasadena police officers are searching for two male suspects who assaulted a 23-year-old Pasadena woman early Thursday as she was sitting in her parked car near the corner of Washington Blvd. and N. Lake Avenue in Pasadena.

During the assault, the suspects in the strong-arm robbery stole her cellphone before fleeing southbound on Lake Avenue out of sight.

Watch Commander Lt. Pete Hettema said the suspects approached the victim’s car at about 1:22 a.m., opened the driver side door and pulled her out.

“The suspects demanded money and proceeded to physically assault her,” Hettema said. “The victim’s cellphone was stolen during the assault and the suspects fled. The victim sustained minor injuries but declined medical attention.”

The assault was not sexual in nature, Hettema said.

Hettema said officers searched the area but did not find the suspects who remain outstanding.

Anyone with information about the incident and the suspects is advised to call the Pasadena Police Department, (626) 744-4241.
