Three separate incidents involving either a gun, knives or fire marred Wednesday as police in Pasadena are searching for suspects who remain at large.
The first incident took place when the victim, who was riding his bicycle east on Mountain Street toward Lake Avenue around noon, became involved in a dispute with others driving in a car beside him. The front passenger of the vehicle pointed a handgun at the man, who fled uninjured, according to police.
The suspect is described as a black man in his mid-20s with a medium complexion weighing about 150 pounds. He was wearing a white t-shirt and a black baseball cap.
The second event was an armed robbery that took place on the 400 block of North Los Robles Avenue. According to police, the suspect entered a retail store around 12:45 p.m. and stole a can of soda. When confronted by the store employee, he produced a knife and ran away with the soda.
Officers were notified and captured the suspect without incident, who confessed to the crime.
The last incident took place at 7:50 p.m. at the Post Office in the 600 block of North Lincoln Avenue. Witnesses told police a woman lit her mail and fire and threw it in a trash can inside the building. The Pasadena Fire Department responded and swiftly extinguished the fire.
According to authorities, this is considered a federal crime because it took place in a federal building. No description of the woman was given.
