A 58-year-old man bought a winning $5 million California Lottery at a Pasadena liquor store, officials announced Thursday.
Francisco Banuelos won the top prize of the “100X the Money” scratcher ticket, which retails for $20, at Super Liquor, 125 E. Orange Grove Blvd., officials reported.
“I was excited and a little scared,” Banuelos said in describing how he felt when he realized he had won the money, according to the Lottery.
Banuelos said that while his win is quite a bit of money, he still plans to keep working. He told officials he would first buy a house, then eventually invest some of his winnings.
The store gets a bonus of half a percent of the jackpot, or $25,000, for selling the winning ticket.
