It’s your chance to score on the Rose Bowl field while helping out a great cause.

As Producer Rob Levy mentioned at Wednesday evening’s media preview for the Masters of Taste event, “Very few people ever get to walk on this historic field.”

Your opportunity will come May 6, when at least 50 culinary masters, mixologists and dessert specialists from all over the Los Angeles area converge at the historic stadium.

The event, now in its third year, benefits Union Station Homeless Services, a Pasadena’s longtime friend to those less fortunate.

“The last two events raised $1 million, and we hope to raise another $500,000 this coming year,” said co-producer Rob Levy.

“This is such an important event for Union Station,” said Union Station CEO Howard Kahn, and it’s in such a great, fun, historic location.”

Union Station Homeless Services is the San Gabriel Valley’s largest social service agency assisting homeless and very low-income adults and families. Since 1973, Union Station has helped rebuild the lives of thousands who were once homeless and without hope.

Union Station offers a full continuum of programs throughout the San Gabriel Valley. Services include street outreach, intake/assessment, care coordination and navigation, meals, shelter, housing, employment development, benefits enrollment, and referrals to medical and mental health services.

Thursday night’s media preview for nearly 100 local journalists saw delicious entries from Ayara Luk and chef Vanda Asapahu, M Cafe and chef Atushi Kenja, The Bellwether and chef Ted Hopson, XO and chef Michael Hung, along with Church & State and Spring with chef Tony Esnault.

Longtime LA fave bakery Porto’s also served delectable pastries.

Preview libations were provided by 1886, Dry Sparkling Soda, Hitching Post Winery SelvaRey Rum, State Brewing Company and The Bellwether.

The Masters of Taste event will take place Sunday, May 6, at the Rose Bowl Stadium. More information about the event is available at
