86-Year-Old Woman Struck, Dragged Beneath Car Driven by 93-Year-Old Pasadena Resident

”]An elderly Pasadena resident drove over and dragged an 86-year-old woman in the parking lot of Holy Family Church at 1501 Fremont Avenue in South Pasadena shortly before 6:11 p.m. Saturday evening, authorities said.

Arriving South Pasadena police and Fire Department crews determined that an 86-year-old South Pasadena resident who was leaving services held at the church was struck by the vehicle of a 93-year old Pasadena resident in the church parking lot

The 86-year-old woman was dragged underneath the vehicle for over 100 feet until the vehicle came to rest after colliding with a block wall, police said.

The victim was found pinned under the vehicle when officers and fire personnel arrived.

South Pasadena fire crews were able to extract the woman from underneath the vehicle. She was transported to Huntington Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

South Pasadena Police Traffic Unit is currently handling the investigating the collision.
