In the old days, books were a valuable commodity. Today, it’s a resource that’s taken for granted. What with the advent of the Internet and smart phones and other gadgets, traditional books aren’t as powerful as they once were.

Despite this slide in popularity, The Book Rack in Arcadia stands firm in its love affair with books, offering bibliophiles a brick and mortar store to purchase, and even rent, books.

With younger generations more familiar with app stores and online checkouts, having a physical book store to browse and hang out in with fellow book lovers is a breath of fresh air.

Located at 204 S. First Avenue, Arcadia, The Book Rack has been in the area for over 25 years. With its selection of used and new books numbering in the thousands, you can see how it has survived this long. By offering a wide and varied range of books, combined with helpful and friendly staff, finding a book has never been easier.

What sets The Book Rack apart from other bookstores though, is that it also does rentals. A bookstore and library in one, so to speak. Book aficionados who don’t have enough budget to buy a book, can still go to The Book Rack and rent out.

This Summer, parents looking to introduce their kids to books will have a good reason to visit The Book Rack. From June 14 to August 31, all used children’s books will be half-off the store price.

For non-juvenile readers, all new books will be 20%.
