Altercation in Restaurant Escalates to Knife Assault

A bad day for an Islands Restaurants employee got a lot worse when he became embroiled in a fight with a fellow employee that escalated into a knife attack Friday night about 9:22 p.m. at the chain’s Paseo Colorado location, authorities report.

Police say the altercation between the pair during Friday night dinner service “got out of hand,” with one pulling out a knife he was carrying and threatening to cut the victim.

Police took a 22-year-old Altadena man into custody. He was booked for assault with a deadly weapon.

The victim, a 23-year-old resident of La Crescenta, was not injured in the incident.
