Amazon pop-up stores will open nationwide in 100 Whole Foods Markets next week including at Pasadena locations as Whole Foods and Amazon introduce a new strategy for selling Amazon devices such as the all-new Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, Fire TV, Kindle e-readers, Fire tablets, and many other products in time for the holiday season.
Thursday, Amazon announced that customers can now shop for its devices at more than 100 Whole Foods Market stores nationwide. Its pop-ups will open in Pasadena on November 14, about the same time as stores in Chicago, Rochester Hills in Michigan, and in Denver.
Amazon staff can assist customers as they try out the devices and learn about services like Prime and Prime Video at their Whole Foods location, the announcement said.
In addition to getting to know Alexa — Amazon’s voice control system — and test-driving some of Amazon’s best-selling devices, Whole Foods’ customers can also get a head start on their holiday gifting by taking advantage of upcoming Black Friday deals.
Starting the week leading up to Black Friday, Amazon will be offering a variety of deals, including $20 off the Echo Dot, $20 off the Amazon Echo, $30 off the Echo Plus, $30 off Kindle Paperwhite, $20 off the Amazon Cloud Cam, $20 off the Fire 7 tablet, and $30 off Fire HD 8 tablet.
Amazon acquired Whole Foods Market in August 2017 for $13.7 billion; these collaborative marketing programs are another step forward as the companies integrate.
The announcement also revealed Whole Foods and Amazon will continue innovating to provide customers with a great shopping experience, in-store offerings, and lower prices.
In Pasadena, Whole Foods Markets are located at 465 S. Arroyo Parkway and the Hastings Ranch Shopping Center at 3751 E. Foothill Blvd.
