Camerata Pacifica is a chamber music ensemble comprised of the finest performers of chamber music from around the world. The ensemble is distinctive for artistic excellence, an innovative approach to classical music and a repertoire that ranges from baroque to brand new compositions, from familiar masterworks to those that have yet to become favorites. This performance features Heggie’s Soliloquy (commissioned in memory of Suzanne Makuch, premiered in 2012), Musgrave’s Narcissus, Howells’ Oboe Sonata, Dring’s Trio, and Mozart’s Quintet in E-Flat Major for Piano and Winds, K. 452.�

Academy Award-winning filmmaker Ron Howard is one of film and television’s most enduring legends, with more than 50 years in the entertainment industry as producer, director, writer and star of some of the seminal works of his generation. As partner in Imagine Films Entertainment, he has led the company’s creative team to such box office hits as “The Da Vinci Code,” “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” “Parenthood” and “Cocoon.” Howard has also earned multiple awards for such prestigious motion pictures as “Frost/Nixon,” “Cinderella Man,” “A Beautiful Mind” and “Apollo 13.” The event is part of the 2013-2014 Distinguished Speaker Series of Southern California. �

22������� JANG SAIK “VOYAGE TO HEAVEN”�

Jang Saik is a popular South Korean singer whose music combines elements of popular music, jazz, and Korean traditional music. In particular, the style of “pansori” can be heard throughout Jang Saik’s music. Jang Saik’s music is often a combination of his own compositions and traditional Korean poetry and often incorporate “kukak,” traditional Korean folk songs. His music has been described as “hot and spicy, like garlic.”�

26������� INTERNATIONAL CHINESE MARTIAL ARTS CHAMPIONSHIP�

International Chinese Martial Arts Tournament and Masters Showcase. Part of the ICMAC Worldwide Circuit. Competitors of all skill levels and age groups will travel from all over North America and other countries to participate in this event. A full day of exciting competition will be followed by a breathtaking Masters Showcase, which will feature two hours of various demonstrations by renowned and highly accomplished Masters in different styles of Kung Fu and Tai Chi, as well as a variety of Chinese weapons and self-defense arts. The public will also be able to watch a performance of Traditional Lion Dance. �
