Robbers hit One West Bank at at 900 Huntington Drive last Thursday afternoon and escaped with cash, San Marino Police announced today.

In a press release, San Marino Police said they were joined by the Pasadena Police helicopter in searching for two black men, one of whom was armed with a black semi-autmatic handgun, shortly after 1:52 p.m. 911 call from the bank.

The caller reported the suspects had already fled the location.

Officers quickly arrived and confirmed the suspects had left the scene. Surrounding agencies were notified and assisted in the search for the suspects. Pasadena Police Department assisted with aerial support.

The suspects were not immediately located and are outstanding.

The preliminary investigation revealed two unknown male suspects entered the One West Bank via the front door. One of the suspects produced a black semi-auto handgun and pointed it at the victim who was working behind the counter. The victim backed up and the man jumped over the counter and removed currency from several bank drawers.

The armed suspect then jumped back over the counter and both suspects fled out the same front door. The suspects fled the location in a red SUV.

The FBI was notified and agents responded to conduct a joint investigation.

The suspects are described as a black man aged  20 to 30 years old, approximately 5’9”, thin build, wearing a light colored long sleeve button down shirt and a baseball hat with an unknown logo on the front, and his partner, also a black man aged 20 to 30, with a heavy build, wearing a light colored shirt, and tan shorts, also wearing a baseball hat.

This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with any additional information or can assist with the identity of the suspects should contact Detective Brian Wong at (626) 300-0719 or bwong@smpd.us.
